…we remain disempowered by our past…

Because we have failed to really face the horror of slavery, so that we can heal from it, we remain disempowered by our past.

Do you see how each of our harmful contemporary behaviors have their roots in residual negative mental legacies of slavery?

It is imperative that we realize that we are psychologically scarred. Behaviors, which once were necessary for our physical and mental survival are now our worst enemies.

And we have been complicit in our own pain because we have been unwilling to dissect out experience of slavery, relive and agonize over its horrors, thereby creating insight whereby we might understand and then heal from our traumas.
